Leichen-Conduct bey Beerdigung Sr. des Herrn General-Feld-Marschalls Prinzen Chevalier de Saxe Durchl. welche in Dresden, den 8. März 1774 erfolgte.
4to. 4 pp. With woodcut title vignette. Marbled wrappers.
Very rare pamphlet containing an account of the funeral procession for Johann Georg, Chevalier de Saxe (1704-74), an illegitimate son of August the Strong, King of Poland and Elector of Saxony, and his mistress Princess Lubomirska. He was later legitimized as "Chevalier de Saxe" and served as general in the Saxon cavalry. After a prolonged illness Johann Georg passed away on 25 February 1774, aged 69 years.
Duststaining, edges frayed, traces of old folds. A small hole in the second leaf repaired, with insignificant loss to a few letters. No copies traced in libraries. A contemporary manuscript (Q.40, p. 331f.) in the Dresden Library appears to correspond to this print ("Wie bey der Beerdigung Sr. Dl. des Herrn Gen. Feld-Marchalls, Prinz Chevalier de Saxe (+ 1774), der Leichen Conduct in der Ordnung folgt").
