Second, expanded and corrected edition of the artillery treatise by the Venetian engineer Moretti (d. 1675), first published in 1665. The plates show cannons and equipment for loading and maintenance, as well as calculations of cannonball trajectories. A pencil inscription on the flyleaf gives the title of the 1683 English translation, "A general treatise of artillery".

Spine a little rubbed. Paper slightly foxed in places; small tear to pp. 7f., not touching text. From the collection of Thomas Fremantle, 3rd Baron Cottesloe (1862-1956), commander of the Territorial Army and president of the Society for Army History Research.
