Early pilot guide to the Aegean Sea by an admiral of the Ottoman navy, describing the shores of the Vilayet of the Archipelago, an administrative division of the Ottoman Empire extant from 1867 to 1912/13. At its maximum extent it included the Ottoman Aegean islands, Cyprus, and the Dardanelles Strait. Admiral Süleyman Faik (1845-1909) had in 1864 travelled the shores of the African continent, which earned him the position of captain, and served in the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-78.

Paper evenly browned throughout. Small tear to front wrapper, a second small tear rebacked with paper; minor edge flaws to final leaf, not touching the text.
