Only printing of this oration on the great contributions made by Dutch scholars to the study of oriental languages, delivered by the Amsterdam professor Willmet (1750-1835) on 26 November 1804. A student of Everard Scheidius, Willmet also produced a valuable Arabic dictionary in 1784 (cf. Smitskamp, PO 317).
Old library shelfmarks to upper cover and front pastedown. A little browned and brownstained near the end, otherwise well preserved; a good, wide-margined copy.
