Extremely rare and curious Austrian military photo documentation produced near the end of the First World War. The aerial photographs date from between the Second (15th through 22nd June 1918) and the Third Battle of the Piave River (24 October to 3/4 November 1918). Also known as the Battle of Vittorio Veneto, the latter marked the end of the war on the Italian Front, secured the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and contributed to the end of the First World War just one week later.

The photos show infantry and artillery positions, Italians camouflaging trenches, bridge contruction and radio shelling, canal traffic, air signals, and ground views of the English "Bristol Fighter", which had to make an emergency landing in Casarsa. These are followed by technical design sketches of the Bristol Fighter's front sight and a list of the 17 recipients of the semi-monthly report.
