Writing as "Maître des Eaux et Forêts" (director of water and forest works) of the duchy of Château-Thierry, counter-signed by Nicolas Guvin, who held the same office, and by François Taillefer, "Chef des Eaux et forêts". The signatories confirm the payment by Nicolas Huet of one thousand livres for heating costs in the year 1660: "[...] confessons avoir receu d e Nicolas Huet la somme de mille livres pour nos chaufages en l’annee soixante. En foy de quoy nous avons signé et, en nous rapportant le present receu, nous promettons de donner quitance en forme de nosd[its] chaufages [...]".

Jean de la Fontaine worked for the "Maîtrise des Eaux et Forêts" of Château-Thierry since 1652, succeeding the husband of his half-sister Anne de Jouy.

Some defects to left margin (no loss to text); brownstained. Very rare.
