Beautiful manuscript of Ungarelli's extensive obituary for his fellow Barnabite Antonio Maria Grandio (1761-1822), published with slight departures in the "Effemeridi letterarie di Roma" (1823), pp. 266f.
Luigi Maria Ungarelli was a student of Ippolito Rosellini, the first Italian disciple of Jean-François Champollion and a participant in Champollion's Egyptian expedition of 1828-29. From 1839 Ungarelli was the first curator of the newly-founded Gregorian Egyptian Museum, today a part of the Vatican Museum.
Insignificant foxing; well preserved.
