Milles compléments a vous deux et bons souhaits à Madame de Montalant [...]".

With his orchestra "Association Artistique des Concerts Colonne", founded in 1873, Édouard Colonne focused on contemporary French composers like Camille Saint-Saëns, Jules Massenet, Gabriel Fauré, Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel. Colonne was also noted for his interest in Hector Berlioz and popularized important works such as "La damnation de Faust", which had not been performed since its unsuccessful première in 1846.
