To a music publisher concerning a possible meeting with his teacher Camille Saint-Saëns and some unfinished articles: "Saint-Saëns est à Toulouse.

Fernand Le Borne is largely forgotten as a composer but merits a place in the annals of film history as the first composer to write an original score for "L'Empreinte ou la Main rouge" in 1908. The film premiered together with the better known "L'assassinat du duc de Guise" to an original score by Camille Saint-Saëns. The two men, student and teacher, thus share the distinction of this extraordinary first.

With minimal foxing.
