To the journalist, music critic and music publisher Léon Escudier (1821-81) about his completed manuscript of a Verdi requiem, which had previously either been too long or too challenging to sing, as well as another work with which he had great success before an audience, asking for Escudier's opinion on the title, suggesting "Fantaisie" or "Illustration": "Le manuscrit sur la Messe de Requiem d.

The postscript mentions a letter by Monsieur Wolf from the Schott publishing house in London, who is still awaiting Escudier's answer regarding the acquisition of Leybach's latest work: "M.
