[Aramco]. The Flying Gazelle.

[Dharan, 1950s].

Black and white photograph. 170 x 107 mm.

A group of girls (likely daughters of Aramco staff) gathered in front of the "Flying Gazelle". Aramco owned three DC-6’s, named "The Flying Camel", "The Flying Gazelle", and "The Flying Oryx", which made regular trips from new York to Dhahran, covering the nearly 13,000 kilometers in about 30 hours’ flying time, until replaced by commercial service in early 1961.
