One of the most successful German muralists of his time, Becker-Gundahl created monumental frescoes and mosaics in several Munich churches from 1900 onwards, was a co-founder of the Munich Secession, and taught drawing and monumental art at the Academy.
Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
