Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.

One of the most productive contributors to the periodical "Die Jugend", Feldbauer created around 250 illustrations for the journal and co-founded the Munich Neue Secession in 1913, specializing in peasant and tavern scenes as well as soldiers and horses.

His name stamp near lower margin. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
