Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.
A founding member of the "Verein für Original-Radierung" in Munich, Halm mainly applied himself to landscape and genre etching, especially inspired by Reichenau island in Lake Constance as well as by German and Italian towns. He was appointed a professor at the Munich Academy in 1900.
Slightly creased near corners; a little duststained near lower left corner; small brown stain and ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
