Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.
A co-founder of the "Lucas-Club", a progressive association of landscape painters, Kampf created popular works inspired by Rhenish and Flemish scenery in a naturalist and impressionist style, his landscapes frequently featuring scenes of peasant life.
With a pencil drawing showing two low farm houses and two high trees beneath a stormy sky. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
