Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.

A founding member of the Munich Secession, Keller-Reutlingen specialized in landscapes and genre paintings. Many of his works were inspired by his three-year trip to Italy, where he visited Venice, Florence, Rome, Naples and Capri.

A few tiny ink spots; corners slightly creased. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
