Autograph quotation signed.
Oblong 8vo (postcard). 1 page.
Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Ich würde auch über die doppelte Route zum gleichen Ort [...]".
An ambitious landscape painter, Kendell travelled England, Italy and Switzerland; many of her works display the mountaineous scenery she encountered on her trips. Her painting of the fishing village Clovelly in Devonshire was acquired by German Emperor Wilhelm II in 1892.
Traces of a postmark; traces of 2 folds near lower right corner; a few small ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
