Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.

A versatile artist, Scheurich created stage designs for Max Reinhardt around 1913, as well as Rococo-based models for the Meißen porcelain manufacture between 1918 and 1936, worked as an illustrator for the satirical magazine "Simplicissimus", and designed bank notes for the Deutsche Reichsbank printed in 1929.

Some small ink spots; a mark in blue crayon on verso. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
