Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.
Specializing in figure and landscape painting, Thegerström spent twelve years in France, where he found inspiration in the commune Lyons-la-Forêt, and spent several summers at the art colony in Grez-sur-Loing, before he settled in Sweden in 1892, producing moody landscapes from Djursholm and Särö.
A few tiny ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
