Tübbecke, Paul Wilhelm, German etcher, draftsman and painter (1848-1924). Autograph quotation and drawing signed.

Weimar, 12. XI. 1922.

(Oblong) 8vo (postcard). 2 pp.

Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Hoffentlich ist Ihnen ein Autogramm von mir, in dieser Form 'recht' [...]". The pencil drawing on the reverse shows the small town of Schwarza (part of the city of Blankenhain in Thuringia since 1993) in a wintery atmosphere.

Studying in Berlin, Weimar and Dresden, Tübbecke specialized in landscape painting and etching, frequently depicting the surroundings of Weimar, and was appointed professor at the Weimar Kunstschule in 1902.

Traces of postmarks on the drawing. Self-addressed by the collector. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
