Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.

Best known for his bookplates and commercial art, including the lion in the logo of the Bavarian "Löwenbräu", Wilm studied art history in Bonn and Munich from 1924, but abandoned his artistic activity in favour of writing for magazines and newspapers in 1930.

Traces of postmarks; traces of an angular fold near lower left corner; a few small creases. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
