Third and final edition of this important Latin-German dictionary which first appeared in 1784. Two German-Latin volumes would follow in 1805. "Once a much-used work, this forms the basis of many later dictionaries. Includes the writers of the church until the 8th century" (cf. Zaunmüller). Scheller's dictionary marks the beginning of modern Latin lexicography; virtually all existing dictionaries can be traced back to it. Scheller was the first to enforce a strictly alphabetical arrangement and to structure entries by a system of numbers and letters.

Bindings rubbed; extremeties bumped. Still a pretty copy.
