First edition, signed in full by the author on the title-page and dated "1925". This is the third and last of Doyle's journeys into spiritualism, narrating his second tour of America and Canada from 3 April to 4 August 1923. On this second trip, taking place one year after the first one, the party travelled to the Pacific Coast: from New York to Rochester, Hydesville, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver and Canada. The illustrations include Doyle seated with the well-known spiritualist George Vale Owen, a group of spiritualists honouring W. T. Stead's memory on the anniversary of the "Titanic" disaster, the author observing oil-bearing ground at Ventura, California, and a trip to the Pickford-Fairbanks Studio in Hollywood.
A few scattered pencil annotations. Fornt hinge broken; upper spine-end chipped, endpapers toned. Interior very well preserved.
