7 bars from the song "Les Papillons" for voice and piano addressed to the young pianist Linette Chalupt (1892-1918) with the words: "Croyez que je suis charmé de pouvoir vous être agréable en vous envoyant quelques 'notes'. Je ne saurais rien refuser à une amie de la musique 'française'".

Linette Chalupt was the younger sister of the poet and critic René Chalupt. Several pieces of music were dedicated to the pianist, most importantly Erik Satie's valse "Son binocle" from his "Valses distinguées du précieux dégoûté" in 1914.
