A set of illustrated girl scout calendars distributed to Aramco employees in Dhahran. The diverse illustrations relate to Aramco activities in the compounds as well as scout activities and life in Saudi Arabia in general, including pictures of Arabian horses, bedouins, falconers, and date gardens, desert landscapes and city views of Hofuf, Medina and Riyadh. Other images show King Khalid ibn 'Abd al-Aziz alighting from his airplane at Dhahran International Airport in 1978, as well as pictures of scout groups, local fauna and flora, and Aramco families enjoying shopping and sightseeing tours.
The calendar for 1978 has a handwritten inscription to the front pastedown: "Dear Marian & Larry, Here is to wish you a Happy 1978! Although I miss you here I can hope for your happiness there. Love, Jinny [?]".
With handwritten notes and entries in English by an Aramco employee and his family regarding appointments, birthdays, guests and excursions. Occasional light brownstaining. Extremities slightly worn.
