Folio (210 x 284 mm). Arabic manuscript on polished paper. 180 pp. 41 lines of Maghribi script in black and brown ink with occasional words in red. Red gouache scrollwork around the title of the 'unwan inscribed in red ink, around the section titles and after the colophon. Western half sheepskin over green cloth boards; spine sparsely gilt and largely lacking.

A later 18th century Maghribi manuscript of an important text on Maliki fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) by the Andaluz Maliki law scholar Ibn Salmun (d. AH 741 / 1340 CE), who hailed from Granada. The colophon gives the date 2 Muharram 1201 H (25 October 1786 CE) as well as the name of the copyist, Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Ali al-Jizzeeni al-Khunmaji.

Binding bumped at extremeties; spine preserved in fragments only. Some browning and waterstains throughout, as well as noticeble worming, mainly confined to margins.
