Limited edition numbered 14 of only 24 and signed by the self-styled "Black Mamba" himself, this 2012 Panini basketball card shows the late legendary Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers posting up with the basketball, signed in blue felt tip. Graded by PSA/DNA as "GEM MT 10" and presented in stunning black-and-white, this is a most desirable and uncommon trading card celebrating one of basketball's biggest names.

At a time when most NBA players were drafted after a stint in college basketball, Bryant was drafted and signed at seventeen, one of only two exceptions to the norm in the previous twenty years (the other being Kevin Garnett, drafted out of high school the year before Bryant). At the time he was the second-youngest player ever to play in an NBA game, and became the youngest NBA All-Star in NBA history. With the championship three-peat of 1999-2002, a twenty-three-year-old Bryant became the youngest player ever to win three championships. But it was his longevity that brought Bryant from record-breaking young superstar to a legend in the game, held up by some as a guard second only to Michael Jordan. His sudden death in 2020, the result of a fatal helicopter crash which took the lives of both Bryant and his thirteen-year-old daughter, came as a shock to the sport. As one of the rare NBA players to spend an entire career with one team, Bryant was for two decades - and to many remains - the face of LA basketball.
