This account was prepared by the Ruler’s Office, and released on 6 August 1968, marking the second anniversary of Sheikh Zayed's accession as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, approximately three years before the formation of the modern-day United Arab Emirates in December 1971. The publication reviews the achievements of the 1966-68 period, while also presenting Sheikh Zayed’s ambitious goals for education, infrastructure, public health, housing, communications and other aspects of life, comprising a section on the 1967-1972 five year plan. With hundreds of contemporary black & white photo illustrations showing all aspects of life in the Emirate, including Sheikh Zayed’s official meetings and engagements, agriculture, utilities and infrastructure, oil industry, travel, traditional life, construction and more, featuring statistics on the Emirate’s economy, industry, agriculture and population.
