First edition. - The Padova composer and theoretician A. Ca(l)legari (1757-1828) counted among his students, besides Melchiorre Balbi (1796-1879), his nephew Luigi Antonio Calegari, Pietro Bresciani, and G. B. Foresta. “He taught the theoretical system associated with his predecessors at the basilica, F. A. Calegari, Vallotti and L. A. Sabbatini, and presented it in his ‘Trattato del sistema armonico’, published posthumously by Balbi” (New Grove). Rare.
