Affectionate letter to the author and educator Ashoke Chatterjee in response to his telegram of congratulations regarding his winning the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award in 1992, for his novel "Our Trees Still Grow in Dehra". Bond confides that the book is one of his personal favourites, but that he "had never envisaged getting [the award]". Furthermore, he is glad that the recipient praised the novel a year previously at Woodstock School, an institution of which Chatterjee was an alumnus. The letter ends with a light-hearted description of Landour after a snowfall: "The snow gives everything a nice face-lift; but the queen's pock-marks will soon show again, alas".
