The life and miracles of the Sufi mystic 'Abd al-Qadir Jilani (ca. 1077-1166): a lithograph-printed book in Urdu, published in Kanpur during the flowering of Urdu print literature.
Lithographic printing, later replaced with typesetting, reproduced and imitated the Urdu manuscript tradition, but produced books an order of magnitude cheaper than a manuscript. Widely available to the populace, Urdu lithographed books ranged from medical and scientific topics like this one to poetry, bawdy stories, and religious texts.
Condition
Some worming, wanting final leaf; otherwise in good condition.
