After studying at the Berlin Academy, Seeck became a professor at the Vereinigte Staatsschulen für Freie und Angewandte Kunst in Berlin. His paintings featured themes from industrial and farm life, especially glassworks, as well as historical motifs including a speech of German Emperor Wilhelm II.
Faint traces of a postmark. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
