About a contribution to the literary "Annals", a popular series of illustrated poetry produced by the "Athenaeum": "[...] I have not had the opportunity of devoting any of my time to subjects for the annuals since I had the pleasure of receiving your letter, untill the present moment. Yesterday I made completion of two high-finished drawings perhaps better adapted for a superior annual than anything that has as yet come from my pencil. I am certain that they will engrave it better than the one in the 'Amulet' of this Year [...] I shall be at home every day except Thursday, the day of the funeral of Sir T. Lawrence [...]".

Sir Thomas Lawrence, president of the Royal Academy, was laid to rest in the crypt of St Paul's Cathedral on Thursday, 21 January 1830.
