An early manuscript comprising 15 chapters, and 7 partial chapters, of the great compendium of the works of Saadi Shirazi (1210-91/92 CE). Born in Shiraz and serving under the rule of the Salghurid dynasty, Saadi was one of the most important and influential Persian poets, remembered alongside the likes of Rumi and Hafez. His influence has been widespread, and can be seen not only in Persian literature, but also Turkish and Urdu poetry. His best-known and most celebrated works are Gulistan and Bustan, which both appear here (though they are both only partial). The colophon of Bustan is dated 1520 CE, placing the manuscript relatively early in the manuscript tradition of the Kulliyat.

The Kulliyat, or collection, was a compendium of Saadi's works first standardized in the 14th century. Saadi's Kulliyat comprises either 22 or 23 works of both prose and poetry, of which fifteen are present here in full, including the Kitab-i Khavatim, Risalah Ask u Akl, and many others.
