Includes the description of an early view of Hormuz Island, "A View of Ormus in 1627" (by William Foster, pp. 160-162), illustrated by a large folding plate. The sketch was drawn by David Davies, master's mate of the East India Company's ship "Discovery", but a few years after the island was captured by a combined Anglo-Persian force in 1622.
