Militär-Schematismus des österreichischen Kaiserthumes.
8vo. XVI, 728 pp. With woodcut armorial title vignette. Contemporary printed boards with spine title and handwritten date.
€ 200,00
A well-preserved copy of the military almanac of the Austrian Empire issued annually (with a few exceptions) between 1790 and 1915. An important source for Austrian military history, providing complete officer lists for the Imperial Austrian army. Also contains a genealogy of the Imperial family, starting with Emperor Ferdinand I.
Some foxing throughout; binding slightly rubbed and brownstained. Spine and hinges reinforced by a paper strip, traces of glue visible on spine. Handwritten ownership of the Austro-Hungarian soldier Gyula Radány (1828-98), who served in the war of 1849, to the title-page. Removed from the library of the Viennese collector Werner Habel, with his ownership stamp to flyleaf.
Cf. Pohler III, 509.
