Oblong 8vo (postcard). ½ page.
Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau.
After a study trip to Florence, where he created woodcut copies of the old masters, Haider returned to his native Munich in 1876 to become a freelance painter creating portraits and landscapes. His work "Herbstabend" won a gold medal at the Munich International Exhibition in 1897.
Traces of a postmark. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.
