First and only edition of this exceedingly rare commentary on Aristotle and Averroes, prepared by the Neapolitan philosopher Giovanni Gomezio Pagano (ca. 1500-69), a leading Franciscan theologian active in the San Lorenzo convent in Naples. His work constitutes a remarkable philosophical treatise defending Aristotelianism against the Neoplatonist tendencies of early Greek and Muslim thinkers including Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina (Avicenna), and Themistius, as well as Christian philosophers such as Alexander of Aphrodisias.

Covers somewhat warped; very slightly rubbed. Title-page lightly brownstained. A fine copy of this notable work rarely offered in the trade. OCLC lists a single record (in the Italian National Library).
