To Lilly Frazer, glad to learn that she and her husband, the Scottish anthropologist James George Frazer (1854-1941), are in Paris, promising to do everything in his power to attend Frazer's lecture, but not sure that he will be available: "J'ai été heureux d'apprendre que vous étiez de passage à Paris et je ferai tout mon possible pour assister à la conférence de Sir James Frazer, que je désire depuis longtemps entendre: je ne suis pas sûr, malheureusement, de pouvoir me rendre libre à temps".
Concluding with an invitation to Lilly and James Frazer to come to tea on Monday: "Nous feriez-vous en tous cas, à ma femme et à moi, le grand plaisir de venir prendre une tasse de thé chez nous, avec Sir James Frazer, lundi prochain à cinq heures? [...]".
