To the engineer and fellow Senator for life Jean-Baptiste Sébastien Krantz in his office as general commissioner of the 1878 Paris Exposition, renewing a recommendation for the genealogist Albert Révérend, who was seeking employment at the Exposition: "Je vous ai recommandé instamment il y a quelque temps M. Albert Révérend, qui a demandé à être employé à l'Exposition. Je vous renouvelle non moins instamment aujourd'hui ma recommandation. J'apprends qu'on va avoir besoin d'employés pour les catalogues. Nul n'est plus propre que M. Révérend à cette besogne. Il est particulièrement instruit en histoire et en géographie ; et c'est une préparation utile pour le travail considérable de cataloguer qu'il va falloir exécuter [...]".
