Rare geological paper presented at the 1963 Arab Petroleum Congress, issued by Dr. Soliman Mahmoud Soliman and Mohamed I. Faris, both professors of Geology at Ain Shams University in Cairo. Their paper evaluates the chances of the occurence of oil in the Delta Province, backing up their promising conclusions by geological finds, including thick paleozoic, mesozoic, eocene and miocene sequences, as well as the fact of the actual occurence of oil in neighboring localities.

The plates show a map of the Nile Delta, stratigraphic logs of the deep wells drilled beside the Delta Region, and the extension of sea over Egypt during different geologic periods.

Date "1963" added by hand to front cover. The same hand corrected a typo on page 3 as well as the numbering of plates III and IV, which appear to have been transposed. Pencil note by another hand near upper right corner of front cover. Small tear to lower spine; overall in fine condition.
