First edition, inscribed by Hayek in blue ballpoint to the half-title to the German professor of law and social philosophy, Thilo Ramm (1925-2018): "Herrn Kollegen Ramm mit den besten Empfehlungen des Verfassers".

This is the text of Hayek's inaugural lecture on "Economics, Science and Politics" on the assumption of his professorship at the Albert Ludwig University at Freiburg on 18 June 1962, just as Ramm was departing Freiburg for Gießen.
