Addressed from an engineer with the Omani Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals, Abdul Karim, to Dr. Soliman Mahmoud Soliman, who began his career at Ain Shams University in Cairo, where he published regularly on topics related to oil prospecting, and who by the 1980s had followed his interests in prospecting innovations in the Arabian Peninsula to the geology department of Qatar University. Evidently, Soliman was in the habit of bringing his geology students to visit the Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals to benefit from mutual exchange with Omani oil industry expertise.
