Only Yiddish-language edition of this biographical account of Lenin's childhood and school years aimed at juvenile audiences, first published in Russian in 1925 by Lenin's elder sister, Anna Yelizarova-Ulyanova (1864-1935), as "Detskie i shkol'nye gody Il'icha".
The editors of this translation were I. Löw and A. Friedkin, the proofreader was L. Königsberg. The colophon notes a print run of 5,000 copies: today, only five copies are known in institutional collections worldwide (Harvard University; National Yiddish Book Center at Hampshire College, Hebrew Union College, Cincinnati, Ohio; National Library of Israel; Haifa University); NYPL and YIVO own a microform copy.
Old number stamps to back wrapper. Evenly browned throughout due to paper stock; a short tear to the upper margin of p. 33f., light creasing, otherwise in excellent condition.
