To the sculptor Henry Behnes Burlowe (ca. 1800-37) about a friend's intentions to commission a clay bust: "My friend Sir William Chatterton [i. e. Sir William Abraham Chatterton, 2nd Baronet, 1794-1855] wants a bust modelled in Clay, and a Cast in Plaister from it, of a Gentleman now dead of whom he has a mask. McClure and I both happened to mention your name to Sir William, and I have written to him to say that I would request you to call upon him any morning to speak about this matter at 5 Seamour Place, May Fair. Will you do so if you desire the job. If not pray give me a line to say that you decline it [...]".
