Scarce first Italian translation of Eleonora d'Arborea's "Carta de Logu", a collection of laws in the Sardinian language destined for the Sardinian state of Arborea, promulgated, in their first version, by Mariano IV. They remained in force until they were replaced by the Codex Feliciano in 1827.

The "Carta de Logu" promulgated by Eleanor of Arborea at the end of the 14th century is a work of fundamental importance, directed at regulating in an organic, coherent and systematic fashion several areas of the legal system of the independent Sardinian state of Arborea. Including a civil and a penal code, the Sardinian codex marks a historical milestone at a European level, fundamental toward the full implementation of a “rule of law”. The promulgation of the "Carta de Logu" was also intended to reaffirm the autonomy of the Sardinian kingdom against the Aragonese invaders.

Not seen at auction since 1975.
