Report to José Joaquin Montealegre, Secretary of State of the Kingdoms of Naples and Sicily (1698-1771), regarding a peace treaty with the "pirate" states of Algiers and Tunis. The very detailed report, which had been requested on 13 January on behalf of the King ("il Sovrano comando del Re comunicatomi con riverito dispaccio di V.E. in data dei 13 del cadente mese"), includes expert opinions by the jurists Pietro Contegna and Francesco Ventura as well as a dossier of the Neapolitan envoy in Tunis, Giacinto Voschi, comprising historical and geopolitical considerations, ultimately coming to the conclusion that the peace treaty already negotiated with Tunis and Algiers by Voschi in November 1742 should be finalized as quickly as possible ("che mi pare inevitabile il conchiuder presto il trattato con Tunesi e con Algeri"). However, due to unfavorable conditions for Naples, it was ultimately not ratified.
Silk threads preserved only in fragments. One bifolium almost entirely torn along gutter.
