The names of ten men and two women (including three children, two born in Africa) whose freedom from slavery in Tripoli, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco was bought between 1765 and 1770, listing their age, city of origin (in Piedmont, Liguria and Sardinia), duration of enslavement, and the ransoms paid for their liberation by the Order of the Trinitarians. Their redemption was celebrated in a solemn procession through Turin, with a prayer delivered by Father Ignazio Porro, which is here printed in its entirety.
Contemporary ink ownership of Giovanni Domenico Leone of Rivarolo Canavese on the verso of the title-page: "Ex libris theologi, et iurisconsulti Jo. Dominici Leone Riparoliensis 1795".
