First edition of a work on a research expedition to the Far East by Gustav Kreitner (1847-1893). As a diplomat and geographer, Kreitner accompanied the Austrian count Béla Széchenyí (1837-1918) to China, Tibet, Birma and Japan. The text is illustrated with numerous views of cities, landscapes, architecture and more.

Browned throughout, but otherwise a very good copy.
