Addressed to his wife, Princess Augusta of Hesse-Kassel, as "Her Royal Highness / The Duchess of Cambridge / Belton House / Grantham [...]". - Includes a cover letter signed by Fetherstone Stonestreet to Robert Hume Middlemass, Esq., of Westbarns, describing Mr and Mrs Stonestreet's attendance of and their return journey from the funeral of the Duke of Cambridge, enclosing the present autograph envelope: "Mrs Stonestreet had no autograph in her possession, and wrote accordingly to his chief Page [...] We attended the Duke's funeral at Kew [...] We ran unawares into the midst of a Southampton Regatta, a striking change from the solemn scene of the morning [...]" (Slatwoods, Cowes, 25 July [1850]).

With two collector's notes, one of which stating "from Mrs. Fetherstone Stonestreet [...]". The envelope and the letter with traces of old mounting on the verso and light brownstaining, the envelope with slight ink smudges and fingerstains.
